Our videos use entirely free technology and are best viewed with the powerful, free VLC media player.
It runs on Windows, Mac and Linux and is available here.
Which videos do I choose?
Each of the videos in the series comes in three different formats:
- ogg - These videos are full sized and of the highest quality but are typically the largest in file size and sometimes do not play well in a browser. The technology is freely available and thus legal to use in any country. Some video players do not automatically play .ogg files and require downloading an additional piece of software to play them which is available here. Choose the "stable" release. If you have sufficient bandwidth and the ability to play .ogg files, this is the best format.
- High.flv - These are high quality flash videos. They are not full size but are still good quality and should play on almost all systems. Flash videos will play within your browser when you click on the video image or they can be downloaded and played with VLC or any other flash player.
- Low.flv - These are low quality flash videos. They should be used if you do not have a fast Internet connection as they are the smallest file size
I can't play the ogg files!
Your player may not have the free ogg software installed. You can get it here for Windows. Choose the stable version and click on download now.
I still can't play the videos!!!!
Commercial video players frequently do not support free videos. The best solution is to install VLC. It is free, powerful, plays just about anything and runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux. You can download it here.
